Guest guest
Dear group, Does anyone have any discussions/ information on clogged ears- chronic & acute... Guest guest
acute clogged ears... think " sudden deafness " or Liver Yang rising. Could also be an external wind thang when associated with an external pattern and mucus clogging up the orifices. As for the chronic type, not sure if clogged ears is an issue outside of the kidney deficiency type tinnitus. That's all i can think of. Guest guest
Dear Jason and Al, Couldn't it also be phlegm damp accumulation, of course depending upon tongue and pulse, and if so, would not an appropriate formula be: er chen ping wei tang, adding to it liu jun zi tang if there is concurrent spleen qi xu?/ Or just middle jiao damp accumulation in which case I would use: Wei ling tang. Just a student thinking out loud. BTW, what is the pulse/tongue picture? Yehuda ______________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Surf the web up to FIVE TIMES FASTER! Spleen vacuity leading to the engenderment of phlegm coupled with some kind of heat, whether it be liver fire or depressive heat can draft the phlegm upwards through the shaoyang and into the ears. Huang lian Wen dan Tang is recommended by the authors. I once had some success using this formula to treat a case of tinnitus leading to partial deafness due a clogging feeling in the ear following the ringing. The patient had alternating irritability and anxiety, a chronic occasional cough and was always sniffling. His tongue was red with a slimy yellow coat and his pulse was slippery and wiry, so he fit the formula very well. Someone told me xia ku cao can be good for these kinds of things if the pattern fits. matt > > > -
Guest guest
Hi Jason, I have no sources for you, but experience in treating this. SJ3 and GB43 were useful, in addition to local points around the ear and ST-8 to clear the head. Dietary changes were essential as well, for eliminating dampness and heat. Acupuncture results were so good, we never tried herbs. < wrote: Dear group, Does anyone have any discussions/ information on clogged ears- chronic & acute...
