Guest guest
Thomas I have everclear, which is 95% alcohol. should I dilute it to 70% or will it work even better at full strength. I assume there is an optimum %. more is not alwys better, right? That's right dilute your 95% to 70% for the ginseng. Use 95% for things like mo yao and mu xiang (although I'd have to look in my notes, I think I decided on something slightly lower for mu xiang). Making tinctures and other liquid extracts is a science as well as an art. I have made thousands of extracts and am constantly updating information and experimenting. There is no reference, that I am aware of, that will give you all the info on Chinese herbs concerning liquid extracts. Perhaps, if there is a need, I could put out a little folio with procedures and technical information on the subject........ Good luck and feel free to ask questions about the subject, I love plant pharmacy! thomas Chinese Herbology and Acupuncture acupuncture and herbal information " Knowing nothing, you will be aware of everything.
