Dear Colleagues,

I think many of you know something about me; but let me just say that

I've been practicing and studying Chinese traditional medicine for 30

years in San Francisco beginning in Great Britain in 1972 with Jack

Worsley. I co-authored a book--Between Heaven and Earth--with my wife

and closest colleague, Harriet Beinfield and we have also formulated a

line of chinese herbal products known as Chinese Modular Solutions which

are manufactured and distributed by Kan Herb Company. I have done a

considerable amount of teaching over the years within schools of Chinese

medicine and without authored dozens of article and chapters in books on

the subject of Chinese traditional medicine as well as spreading the

good news through interviews on radio, television, print media and

various conferences. Currently I am engaged in a collaborative project

in Cuba with Cuban acupuncturists and Natural and Traditional Medicine

specialists to teach Chinese traditional medicine to Cuban physicians

and medical school residents as well as graduates of the Latin American

Medical School (which provides medical education for free to 7000

students from poor, medically underserved countries). I also helped to

co-found, in the last three years, a non-profit organization, NOMADOCS

(www.nomadocs.org), whose mission is to help people in medically

underserved communities within the U.S. and in other parts of the world

develop their own health care institutions using Chinese traditional

medicine and related nautral and traditional therapies as the foundation

for safe, effective, low tech, and low cost medical care....I hope this

suffices. Thank you for your invitation to join--I look forward to

participating in the CHA forum....

Ken,

Thanks for your hearty welcome...I dont know about dancing however;

when I was last in Cuba (a few weeks ago) I did some vigorous

Salso dancing at an afternoon party and sprained my hip! (I guess

there's always a first time, eh...) Having been inundated recently

with PUU's profound and provocative historical investigations, I dont

seem to have much

to say on the subject of Chinese medicine--I'm sure something

will come to me eventually....
