Guest guest
>>Prof Smallwood replied: " We are all aware of the Pan Pharmaceutical debacle " (laugh from the audience). Then he said " as for other tools for dealing with epidemics, we are open to it. Just provide us with the evidence of how they work. " I raised my hand to do a follow-up question but the moderator declined. Regards, Rey Tiquia>> Precisely a point some of us have been making about research and biomedicalization - Prof. Smallwood didn't say 'show me evidence THAT they work', he asked for evidence of HOW they work. Biomedicine wants a thorough evaluation of CAM from it's own point of view, which includes determining mechanisms of action, whereupon techniques derived from CAM modalities can be incorporated into biomedical practice, utilised in accordance with biomedical theory.
