Had Prof Smallwood been a " real scientist " , he would have asked TWO questions of you: 1. DOES herbal WORK in condition XXX (2) If yes, do you know HOW it works? And a posivite answer to (1) is FAR more important to real scientists than a negative answer to (2). It is a bonus (but not essential) to know HOW things work. I do not know the finer details of how a PC, car or TV, work, but I use them every day. Similarly, if the truth were known, most practitioners do NOT know exactly how most of their drugs or remedies work. But they know that they WORK well in many or most clinical cases for which they are chosen with professional care.
