Guest guest
Members Perhaps someone thought this was a democracy where anyone could jump in and claim the role of moderator or usurp the authority of the group Well, that is incorrect. I am the final arbiter. the apparent lack of moderation is due only to the intransigence and arrogance and rudeness of those who need moderation. I have tried to mitgate this matter behind the scenes, but to no avail. Call it censorship, if you will, but I consider much of the recent discussion to be off-topic. I have had numerous complaints and though I consider myself a free speech advocate, I do not have to allow the discussion to veer off-topic or burst into flames. I will thus no longer allow the type of backbiting that has been going on from anyone. Several members will no longer be allowed to post and anyone who wants to take up the topic of censorship or renew the destructive threads promulgated by these members can do it elsewhere. I will not allow the discussion of this decision to be a topic, either. So anyone who has a problem with this can take it up offline. If the fallout results in a loss of a few hundred members and a decline in messages by 50%, I will not mind, as long as the quality and tenor increases. To those who oppose or resent my decision here, its a big internet and there's a place for all of us, but its no longer going to be at CHA. I apologize to those who will no doubt depart in anger or disgust, but CHA was founded to serve what I consider the best interests of the field, as determined by those in the field. It does not currently serve those interests, IMO, largely because it has been hijacked by outsiders to the profession. This is not to say such outsiders have no right to their views, just that CHA was not their intended forum. In the future, the criteria for admission will be strictly upheld and those who are not licensed healthcare providers or cannot otherwise demonstrate extensive practice of chinese herbology will be not be admitted, except under rare circumstances at my sole discretion. Guest guest
Thank you, Todd. This has been long overdue, and I am glad you are at long last taking action. < wrote: Members Perhaps someone thought this was a democracy where anyone could jump in and claim the role of moderator or usurp the authority of the group Well, that is incorrect.
