That seems to be the major hurdle. I've heard rumors that policy is under review and may be changing. These things don't change quickly, though, and definitely not without a lot of pushing. I thought many of the alt. med grants have no MD's involved. the studies at the bastyr center for HIV are all led by alternative docs And OCOM got a grant without an MD involved. for grant criteria, go to the NIH site.
