Dear friends,

I would appreciate your feedback for the treatment of a 4 1/2 year old

just recently diagnosed with type I, insulin dependent diabetes. I know

that herbs especially, are effective in treating type II, NIDDM, along

with acupuncture and dietary modification, but what about IDDM, and

especially with such a young child.

I await and appreciate your thoughtful responses.

Xiao ke is a fairly specific type of presentation, one that does not

necessarily coorespond with typical type I diabetics, particularly in

early stages.

What is the presentation of the patient?

In the meantime, Bob Flaws et al. has a book called " The Treatment of

Diabetes Mellitus with " which gives much information

on the topic, including history, treatments, dietary & exercise

advice, and specific protocols based on pattern discrimination of

various " branches " of Diabetes, such as hypternsion, retinopathy,

neuropathy, etc.
