Paradigm did it for the SHL, but then this book is the only thorough text on the subject, so it was worth it because it will be the main text on this topic in every school. Perhaps inthe next generation of e-books, this will be a simpler matter. I would love to see all the BP modern disease texts on a fully searchable CD-ROM with chinese characters included for all patterns, diseases, formulas, points and symptoms/signs. I can understand that re-writing the commentary in chinese would very laborious. but the rest should be easy enough. I would also like to see e-books of various modern chinese texts in unicode format to be read on wenlin. If the " books " were produced with merely the addition of a comprehensive english table of contents, it would make a great learning tool and with wenlin, students could access useful information in a short period of time. for example, see the TOC in mcdonald's zang fu syndromes. then look at the simplicity of the data presented in each section. when the data is set up as lists in a repeating format, such as pattern, manifestations, complications, etc., one will know the context of what they are reading and can proceed. In the process, one will learn the characters for various symptoms, tongue and pulse, etc. We have been able to find some classical texts in wenlin readable formats online, but without an english index, they are not adequate for entry level immersion style learning. Can anyone help me access the material I want in the format I need. I would be willing to publish it myself or make it available online to rs. Until or unless there is way to write-protect CDs to prohibit unauthorized copying (more secure than there is right now), BPP will not be doing any searchable CDs of our books. A) We don't believe the market is there to validate ROI, and B) too many students and impecunious practitioners will copy them. I know for a fact this has happened to Giovanni's CD and I know for a fact that it happens with our DL CDs and tapes. If practitioners would like to see some of these kinds of things happen, it's going to have to be via grants from professional and academic organizations. That means that practitioners have to 1) join such organizations, 2) donate to them, and 3) guide them to making these sort of grants. For-profit companies have to make a profit or at least break even, something that BPP only just does (and some years doesn't, like this year). Even when things can't be downloaded and copied, it would be exciting to be able to search through an entire library of CM.
