Guest guest
Another source. (I find these all the time, I wonder what you all make of such information) (from handbook of internal medicine) Bi yuan (Deep source nasal congestion) Pattern Phlegm-Heat. S/s basic + fatigue, lethargy, poor appetite, etc. Rx: Dan nan xing Ban xia Cang zhu Bai zhi Huang qin Shen qu Xin yi hua Jing jie Huo xiang Bai dou kou Lian qiao Shi chang pu Mods: do not mention any tonics. There is phlegm, does that mean that the spleen must be addressed? This is a personal preference issue that IMO is valid on both sides of the coin. But my observations in general are that the Chinese that I have dealt with are more likely to stay focused on the issue, more direct formuals, where the westerners like to treat everything at once. I.e. they will say, there is phlegm & fatigue we must obviously tonify the spleen. I don't think the latter is always a rule.
