Does anyone have experience with, or able to recommend a good

external formula or sources, for a person who had his hand burned

from an electrical accident. The burned flesh has already been peeled

off for the most part, so the emphasis would be on regenerating new

flesh, and promoting healing, preventing scarring, etc.

Sorry, I dont know much else about the guys' signs and symptoms as of

yet, although he seems quite healthy otherwise.

Thanks,

Oren

There is a wonderful 'patent' herbal ointment available in all Chinatowns

and through ITM(Inst. for Traditional Medicine) in Portland, OR....see

www.itmonline.com. It is called Jing Wan Hung. Best used as close as

possible to the time of injury, but i have found that whenever the

application is begun it seems to accelerate the healing process. It's cheap,

too. Seems to be applicable to all types of burns. Even sunburn. Red

ointment may be staining, so protect from valued clothing.

Hope you can find it.

There's a topical ointment in China that has Huang Qi in it that I heard

about for generating flesh, but I've never seen it here. You might want

to check out the Manual of Dermatology for topicals. I think you're

going to have to make your own. There's a new derm book coming out too,

but I haven't seen it yet.

Spring Wind makes a burn creme. I haven't used it for burns, but have had

success using it on cracked, dry feet. It clears heat and promotes generation

of tissue. Price is reasonable also.

Greetings,

I have been delayed in reading my posts, but wanted to add an anecdotal

incident about burn ointment - jing wan hung. . .my friend was going in for

radiation tx. after a lumpectomy/breast cancer and used the ointment on her skin

prior to the tx. She did not burn from the radiation txs, except in the area

that

she forgot to put the ointment. SHe did not realize that they were radiating

in a certain spot and she burned in that area only - not in any of the more

sensitive areas.

ONe needs to be careful to advise patients (undergoing radiation txs.) when

putting it on however as the area needs to be cleaned just prior to the

radiation. I advised pts. to put it on 30 minutes prior and then wipe it off

just

before having the tx. This seemed to be ok with the radiation docs that I

worked with.

you discussed this with a radiologist. I have actually wandered about this but

never had a chance to discuss this.
