Guest guest
Sorry for the delay on your call for me to answer, I have been very busy and not really keeping up the list. I see no problem combining glycerin, alcohol and DMSO. HOWEVER, I do not advocate the use of DMSO! I would encourage you to do a little research into this product before using it on patients. I first was introduced to it in the early 90's but felt uncomfortable about using it, then a few years later I had a student who was really hot on it and gave me some. I did a little research and decided that I didn't want to use it at all. I frankly don't really remember the specifics but keep this in mind. This product is a carrier, it supposedly brings other extracts further into the human system. How far? Does it go right into the blood stream? How safe is the product itself? Do you really want to drive a lobelia extract deeper, doesn't it work just fine without any help? Just as an aside, if the product your using doesn't use the seed (Semen Lobeliae Inflatae) it is inferior. Although the herb is effective and will work, the seed is much stronger for this application. In fact, it is the seed that was predominately used until recently (the last 20 years or so). thomas < DMSO does anyone know if its OK to mix an alcohol glycerin herbal extract used as a topical with a DMSO gel. the herb is lobelia, which is used as an external rub, but I am curious about driving it deeper with DMSO. Is there any problem with the fact that there would be alcohol and glycerin in the mixture? Or do you need to use DMSO as the sole solvent when making DMSO extracts? Thomas?
