Guest guest
Moving on from sex... I had a chance to get a copy of the new Giovanni Macciocia Diagnosis Book. It certainly is comprehensive and I must say that after all these heated exchanges on CHA it has made me more than a little wary of this new book. There has always been something " off " about his books, maybe someone can point out their feelings about this. There is a fair amount of discussion about pulses and he " comes out " with his links to Dr. Shen. He certainly does a more concise job of it than Leon Hammer. One problem in this section of pulses is that although many of the pulses are glossed many are not. The book raises the whole question (again) of how much a book should reference Chinese sources. Are they less " true " because a Westerner has " discovered " things? And how many Chinese sources does one need for 'authenticity " ? So although the Giovanni book is more comprehensive, the Deng book seems, on the surface, more " credible " . Comments about the book anyone? doug
