Guest guest
Just a couple of thoughts: why even bother with huang qin as your opening move? Hiua jiao and di yu clear heat and stop bleeding. and huai hua is a somewhat nutritous strategy- being high in rutin. dang gui is fine, bbut also could be edited out if you have concerns. but what are your concerns? Huang qin could make the milk taste bitter. the baby may not want to nurse as well, but no harm will come of it. aving administered herbs to many nursing women and having also nursed for years and swallowed an ocean of herbs in the process, I can attest that there is actually quite a lot of leeway. as a rule of thumb, I have nursing mothers take herbs immediatly AFTER nursing. some herbal constuents enter milk within minutes, and this strategy may help reduce the babys exposure to herbs. further: have you tried something as basic as preparation H? It's actually a natural product. it's main active ingreident is shark liver oil which is anti-angiogenic, so it redices swelling and blood stasis locally. also- you coulld use your formula as a sitz bath, or even an enema. the local effect would be enhanced and thethe babies exposure to herbs reduced. regarding fibroids: Sharon Weizenbaum has a wonderful compress that she uses. I do have the formula, but would prefer to have her permission before sharing it. Sharon? Acupuncture has been helping but not enough and I am considering using Huai Jiao Wan(huai Jiao, Zhi ke, Dang Gui, Di Yu, Fang Feng, Huang Qin). Symptoms warrant using this formula(extreme swelling, pain and occasional bleeding)red tongue and fast pulse. What I am worried is the effect of de component herbs would have on the baby mainly huang qin and dang gui. While I have been researching the herbs I am trying to decide if there will to much risk towards the baby versus the severity of the symptoms as we would like to avoid surgery. Have any of the members used this formula post partum in breastfeeding mothers? Any feedback would be very helpful. Thank you. A colleague was wondering about topical tincture/liniment recipes using ingredients such as mo yao, ru xiang, xue jie, etc. Her patient would like to make some for home use. I have recipes for traumatic injuries, but never used them on a more chronic stasis condition. Thanks--Jason Wright
