Sorry if this is a subject already covered in earlier posts but does

anyone know if Xi Xin and Kuan Dong Hua are officially banned? KPC

does not sell xi xin and evergreen is not selling it nor Kuan Dong

Hua. Are there other sources for granules or have we lost these

herbs?

Thanks

Hi Rich,

KPC and Crane Herb does have Xi Xin and Kuan Dong Hua that have been

tested appropriately at Exygen Research Lab in Pennsylvania and FDA has

accepted and double-checked the lab results.(Exygen is the only lab in

the country,as far as we know, that the does this testing and the FDA

accepts their test results).

Regarding the AA issue : FDA continues to have a zero tolerance for

AA. Several years ago, less than .5PPM of AA was acceptable. Lab

testing limits have gone lower to .2PPM and these herbs now show AA as

ND(non-detectable) and NQ(non-quantifiable).

KPC doesn't have any xi xin- I tried to order yesterday, they said that thecost

of testing is prohibitve. I told them that I would be willing to pay as much as

40$ a bottle (ren shen costs this much) because we use so little in each

formula and it is hard to replace it espec for sinus pain. Perhaps if other

practitioners wouldtell them as well they might be willing to do it. Samegoes

for evergreen.

PCOM took xi xin off the shelf a year ago. Andy Ellis says he cannot find any

raw herb that meets FDA standards.
