Kayte Kayte, Do you actually think you don't know what to do? Do the patients you are seeing have patterns you have not studied or seen in the clinic? Are you lacking knowledge to confidently treat those patients who are taking meds? Is there even enough information out there to take into consideration when in comes to understanding botanical/pharmaceutical interactions? I've personally seen few, if any, problems when it comes to prescribing botanicals to a patient taking " more drugs than Walgreens, " just be mindful, think everything through as best you can, and trust yourself. Practicing is just that, practicing. We are all learning, we all make mistakes, even those of us who have been doing this for a ten or twenty years, or more in a few cases. That being said, be sure to center yourself, in whatever way you feel comfortable, before you start your day, and before each patient, if you can. Give yourself plenty of time between scheduled patients so you can cultivate a system, your own way of doing things. It is better to see fewer patients and do a great job with each and every one of them, think long term. Finally, lean on us as much as you need, that's what we are here for.
