Guest guest
Hi Z'ev and welcome Paul, >Hmm, India as a culture doesn't seem to be any stronger or weaker than >any other culture, and they are largely vegetarian (even though they >consume dairy products). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that it is primarily (or only) in the South of India where vegetarianism is predominant? Vegetarianism is part of the Ayurvedic system of medicine but that has more to do with Hindu tradition than health concerns. In fact, I know of meat being accepted as medicine for individuals by Ayurvedic/Yogic masters. >Japan had a largely meat-free diet for centuries, and got its protein >from seafood sources (unless you consider fish to be meat). If fish isn't meat, what is it? Of course it is a different form of meat and I think that wild fish is an excellent and even essential part of many peoples diets, especially if they're roots are near the sea. I can tell you for sure that I feel much better when I have regular wild fish consumption, I am half Azorean (Portuguese). >One has to be careful with dietary conclusions, as there is lots of >conflicting data available. That is for sure! Also is for sure is at this point in our evolution there is not a unified diet that we can all eat and function at our potential physical/mental/emotional/spiritual state. Where are your roots? How has your family been eating for the past 10, 20, 30 + generations? Some people do very well with meat, others do very well with vegetarianism. A good variety is probably the best advice most Americans could get. People get into a rut with food habits. They eat the same foods over and over again with sometimes few or no choices that will deliver the nutrient/energetic/whatever amount/balance/whatever a person needs. Obviously there are therapeutic diets and these are important but when it comes to generalizations about diet, I believe that to be this ice.......... thomas P.S. My wife works for Full Circle Bison Ranch right here is Williams, OR and they raise grass fed bison on organic pasture. They mail if you are interested. I believe they're prices are lower than many. They raise the animals with a strong Native American influenced spirit and intent. They are very conscious animal lovers. I have been eating a far bit of it for the last year or so and I can tell you from a meat eaters point of view it is some of the best, although I still put venison at the top for red meats. www.fullcirclebisonranch.com Chinese Herbology and Acupuncture acupuncture and herbal information " Knowing nothing, you will be aware of everything.
