Guest guest
I have a friend/teacher who studied at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and completed his medical degree in TCM and is licenced to practice in China. He will be writing the California boards later this year. How important and detailed should the know;edge of herb drug interactions be to write the current boards in California ? Cheers, Dr. G. Guest guest
I think I read you correctly: your friend is employed by the testing company to submit questions for the California State Board licensing exam. I'm not sure its appropriate (or legal) for us who are licensed in California to give advice on this but... anything that is in the exam has to be backed up by a book on the recommended by the Board. If your friend has picked up some good information on drug interactions then he will have to keep it to himself for the purposes of the test. The test is not a test on everything known about but is confined to facts within the recommended list. doug , " busyalchimiste " <busyalchimiste@h...> wrote: > I have a friend/teacher who studied at Nanjing University of Chinese > Medicine and completed his medical degree in TCM and is licenced to > practice in China. Guest guest
Doug, busyalchimiste, I think that " writing the state board " should be read as " taking the state board " in this case. I've never heard of any questions regarding herb/drug interactions showing up on the CA state board, but it is a hot topic and this would be a good question for anybody who has taken this test recently. -al. The state would have to find such information in the published source texts, as Doug pointed out. I don't think it exists much in the California official texts. Guest guest
I took the California Boards in July 2002. At that time there were no questions about herb-drug interactions, but there were several about side-effects of western meds, and knowing which are used for various western diagnoses. The Board is changing the makeup of their exam all the time, so there may very well be questions about herb-drug interactions now, but there weren't any 2 years ago. , " busyalchimiste " <busyalchimiste@h...> wrote: > I have a friend/teacher who studied at Nanjing University of Chinese > Medicine and completed his medical degree in TCM and is licenced to > practice in China.
