Guest guest
Does anybody know what the link to the German study is? Also a thought on intension. If the sham group did as well as the treatment group, what about the significant of intension (yi). Alon
Guest guest
Thank you Rich for the translation from the German. It is helpful to read a more accurate version of the results than what were mentioned in the newspaper article. As an aside (I mean I'm not trying to explain away this particular study) I can add something about 'lumbar pain' from my years as a dancer, choreographer, Certified Movement Analyst, Registered Movement Therapist and my 14 years as a hands-on practitioner/teacher of Body-Mind Centering® and Craniosacral therapy. It is this: the root of 'lumbar pain' can come from just about any source - poor skeletal alignment, torsion patterns in the organs, adhesions of connective tissue, early developmental gaps (in relationship to gravity and space), poor alignment of the head, closing down of the senses, imbalance of the autonomic nervous system, misalignment of the jaw, digestive problems, kidney problems, cancer, (etc. etc. etc.) in addition to local disc problems/nerve compressions and local muscle/ligament strains and sprains. So to me it's not surpr ising that many, many acupuncture point prescriptions (and even sham needling) might have a positive effect on lumbar pain. -RoseAnne S.
