Guest guest
Dear How does this work? I shop at Amazon constantly and know many others who do. If we access Amazon through CHA, then CHA gets a percentage of the sale? Please explain. Once I know how it works, I can encourage others to purchase this way. Thank you. Guest guest
Did you make this decision on your own or were you advised to do this? Is there a board or other group managing the CHA or is this a one-man show? I do not mean to imply in any way any criticism of you or your decisions; I am merely curious as to how things work in this organization. Thanks. By the way, I don't think it's a bad thing to ask people to pay a membership fee every year. For one thing, if there is a certain known income, it makes it more possible to plan ahead. Guest guest
I understand that people are reluctant to join organizations or buy subscriptions to information. I know I am. On the other hand, I know people need to buy actual physical things for themselves, family, friends and practices. So I have decided to affiliate with several companies who most of us patronize once in a while anyway. I chose a few companies I have been happy with and which provide a wide range of products and services at excellent prices. The companies are Amazon.com, Buy.com, Allegro Medical Supply and Acupuncture By Specialty. If you are planning to make a purchase from one of these companies anyway and are also interested in indirectly supporting CHA, please go first to the CHA website at >>>Todd i think that is a good idea and don't feel bad about it Alon
Guest guest
It does seem like you are doing a lot. Thanks very much. However CHA is currently a private organization that exists as a sole proprietorship which was founded for the purpose of producing continuing education and providing a variety of resources for practitioners. The CHA forum, which is sometimes confused with CHA as a whole, is just one facet of the organization (admittedly the most visible facet). I do have " volunteers " for my conference, but they actually receive compensation other than money for their services. So that is essentially a barter arrangment, not a donation of time, per se. In the future, a research arm will be developed and at that time board members will have to decide how to proceed (such as a not for profit foundation encompassing all or part of CHA). In the meantime, this seemed like a good way to earn money to pay bills, debts and wages as it is voluntary and anonymous. I provide a service (in the form of marketing) to these companies in return for a % of sales. CHA visitors can choose to patronize or not. I do not consider this to be a donation, BTW. It is more like deciding to buy your beer at the local mom and pop shop instead of Vons. Except in this case, you don't pay extra to support the local business. If anyone wants to discuss further how I use my website, feel free to contact me personally. Chinese Herbal Medicine offers various professional services, including board approved continuing education classes, an annual conference and a free discussion forum in Chinese Herbal Medicine.
