Guest guest
i spoke with the state fund adjuster for a patient of mine this morning, she was unaware of any new policy regarding acupuncture. these companies are so big and so poorly run and seem to have such a high rate of turnover with adjusters that they seldom seem to have a straight story. From now on authorization is supposed to go through these big reviews that supposed to follow evidenced based criteria. I think the adjusters are not even aware of what the new rules are. So that on a case by case we may still get some authorizations. I am actually worried about what will occur when we actually trying to get paid. Are the authorizations from the case managers going to be thrown out? Who knows. Anyway we may have some time to mount a defense and a case for evidence.
