Guest guest
Hi S & All, > I've started growing some of my own herbs. For those of you in > [uSA] southern Zone 7 or northern Zone 8 - Banxia (Pinellia > ternata) is available from Richter's and grows fine as a perennial > here. I've started Mahuang from seed this year - we'll see what > happens. S I can understand the frustration of practitioners who see useful herbs being banned. I can also understand the temptation to grow useful herbs, if they will grow well in one's local area. That said, two questions arise: 1. Asuming that the herb-grower knows HOW, WHEN and WHAT part(s) of the herb(s) to harvest, and how to PREPARE and STORE the prepared herb(s), are we sure that herb X, grown locally has the same clinical effects, at the same dose as the variety grown in the Far East? 2. What is the legal situation (and the insurance cover) in the event or serious illness or death in a patient being treated with home- grown but " officially banned " herbs?
