Guest guest
Hi-- I'm pretty sure I have my first case of Phlegm fire agitating the heart for which Bensky suggests Sheng Tie Luo Yin. I am finding that aside from the fact that Zhu Sha is impossible to obtain, Sheng Tie Luo is also absent from Mayway and Golden Flower. Is there some problem or toxicity that I am unaware of? Or is it just that uncommonly used? I was thinking iron filings would be available through industrial sources but am reticent to use something not " prepared " for use in herbal decoction. Any ideas about substitution or sources? Chai Hu Jia Long Gu Mu Li Tang with Er Chen Tang has been suggested but the astringent properties of Long gu and yin tonic of Mu Li have me concerned. The tongue coating is very thick, yellowish and dry with red tip. There is extreme restlessness, irritability, history of religious abuse and subsequent institutionalization and drug experimentation for mental illness (not believing in the pentacostal version of christianity). He has an identical twin who was also " studied and experimented on " . (I have met his twin who does in fact exist). He is now 39 and has extreme difficulty with socializing properly. He uses alcohol and cigarettes to help overcome his anxiety which of course causes any number of adverse effects including damp heat from which Long gu is speciffically contraindicated. Info anyone?
