Guest guest
Bensky offers many anti-helminthic herbs (roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms, pinworms) in " the book " . There is no mention of anti-protozoans. What are some useful herbs for protozoans eg. giardia? Also, i thank those who helped my unerstanding of powdered herb dosages. Guest guest
Lauren, In Chinese medicine, protozoal diseases are not considered parasitic diseases (unless one categorizes them as " invisible " gu worms; but that's a whole different discussion). Therefore, my advice: 1. Determine your patient's traditional Chinese medical disease diagnoses (such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, etc.) 2. Determine the patients presenting Chinese medical pattern(s) 3. State the treatment principles for those patterns in order o predominance 4. Choose a guiding formula for the main pattern(s) of the main Chinese disease(s) and add and subtract medicinals based on a combination of the accompanying patterns and the patient's main clinical manifestations. That's standard professional Chinese medicine in four steps. If you really get that and consistently do that, you may not always be right, but you'll never be far wrong. Good luck and best wishes, Bob
