Guest guest
Dear Colleagues Chinese Herbal Medicine will be convening its second annual conference in San Diego on Friday June 18. This year we also have a a variety of free lectures, demonstrations and meetings planned for those who cannot attend the conference. All the details are at: http://.org/conference_04.html Chinese Herbal Medicine Conference is an annual gathering for serious students and practitioners of Chinese Herbology. We invite leaders in the field to come share their current passions in order to provoke further research and discussion in these areas. All the speakers are professional educators, most of whom have learned to read Chinese so they have access to the wealth of information available only in the Chinese language. Each one of our speakers also has extensive clinical experience applying that knowledge in their day-to-day practice for many years. Chinese Herbal Medicine is committed to giving its students the best of all worlds. Scholars who are also teachers and practitioners provide you with depth of knowledge, practical experience and best of all, the ability to dynamically convey their insights to an audience. I think we have an exciting show planned. The theme of Plurality in Practice spans from Heiner Fruehauf's scholarly daoist oriented decoding of ancient classics through Bob Damone's analysis of premodern cases to Misha Cohen's assessment of the role of clinical research in modern practice. What ties these speakers together is the rigor they bring to their diverse studies and approaches to the medicine. Bob Flaws will kick off the event with a strategic vision for the future of Chinese herbal Medicine. We also have an innovative Demonstration hall planned for this year. Vendors will have a demonstration area where FREE presentations will be given several times a day (schedule soon to be posted). Presentations may include computer assisted language learning, computer assisted herbal formulation, the use of topical liniments and current regulatory issues in TCM. FREE demo hall speakers include such luminaries as Andy Gaeddert of Health Concerns and Honora Wolfe of Blue Poppy. Marc Sklar, L.Ac., past PCOM student council and CSOMA student organization president will be convening a townhall to discuss various pressing issues affecting the practice of OM in California and nationwide.. This townhall is co-sponsored by CSOMA and CHA. Finally, all are invited to join us for dessert and drinks on Saturday night whether you attend the conference or not.
