Guest guest
Hi All, I'm perplexed by something going on in my own foot. A few weeks ago, I dropped a cutting board on it (ouch - yeah!) - it was the worst acute pain I'd ever experienced, and elicited some of the most awful noises I've ever heard myself make. Wow. Anyway, the corner landed (thankfully it was rounded and not a square corner) in-between my 4th and 5th metatarsals (right smack-dab on the GB channel, GB 41-42). I iced it that day, used lots of traumeel cream and left it alone. Lots of bruising and some swelling. 6 days later, I went to the desert, where the heat caused lots of swelling in both feet. Returned to San Diego after 8 days in the desert, and now, a week later, the swelling is gone, but there is a very hard, rubbery mass between those two metatarsals, about an inch-and-a-half long. It's so large, it's hard to tell what is bone and where the mass begins. It isn't painful to touch, and in fact, most of the area between it and GB-43 is mostly numb. It is tender when I'm in the shower and the water hits it. It's still a little discolored, and walking on it isn't painful at all, but wearing enclosed shoes is painful. There's obviously blood stagnation remaining, but any ideas what this mass might be? I've treated it a couple of times this week with no discernable results. Even with deep needling, it's pretty numb. The only interesting thing with treatment is that when I remove the needles, a large amount of very dark blood pours out. Any treatment ideas - liniments, herbs, needling techniques? Is it possible I've broken the bone without knowing, and the mass is actually smashed bone regrowing? How do I decide when it is time to see an MD? I am getting a little worried...and curious... Oh, and my advice to you all, is to avoid dropping cutting boards on your feet. If you do, I recommend wearing shoes :+) Domains - Claim yours for only $14.70/year
