Guest guest
Hi All, A Dublin doctor.has just diagnosed autism in a boy of circa 2 years- old. He is the firstborn of his parents, who are devastated. They are personal friends of mine. I saw this child only 2 weeks ago and never suspected a thing. The boy looked happy and behaved normally, except that he did play a lot alone and spoke little. I would appreciate suggestions (off list) on: 1. Diagnosis: Best person / clinic for an expert second diagnostic opinion. The boy's parents may agree to travel abroad if only a short stay is needed for expert assessment. 2. Best treatments: What approaches would you suggest to treat autism, assuming that it was a child whom you loved. 3. Prognosis: What are the odds of success in the longterm?
