Guest guest
Hi All, Do any of you know whether administering Chinese formulas internally is included in Arizona's scope of practice for acupuncturists? I've heard " yes " from several sources, but all the written materials I've seen include only application of herbal poultices. Thanks for your help! < wrote: > CSOMA > June 18, 2004 3:50:52 AM PDT > > CSOMA: Michigan Acupuncturists Need Your Help > > > MICHIGAN ACUPUNCTURISTS NEED YOUR HELP! > > As the first of many unified efforts, AAOM and CSOMA are pleased to > join the State of Michigan in seeking the submission of letters of > support from California practitioners to the Governor of Michigan, > encouraging the passage of HB 5205. Guest guest
I just came from Arizona a couple months ago, and all I am aware of after having lived and practiced there for 6.5 years is that acupuncture alone is covered under the scope of practice. I don't recall whether herbal poultices was in the law, but I don't offhand remember it, and I was in at the inception of the law and helped work on it for awhile with the legislature and the board. As far as I know, herbal medicine in Arizona is a-legal, unregulated practically speaking. I suppose that infractions and problems with herbal medicine would have to be referred to the medical board after going to the acupuncture board, strictly speaking, if the acupuncture board couldn't keep it quiet.
