Guest guest
I got a complaint about religion on CHA. I mulled it over till I heard a report on religiosity in america on NPR. America is a country where all power is held by those who are either religious or claim to be. Nonbelievers are the most ostracized of any group. An atheist could never be elected to high office, for example. Why, because nonbelievers are considered immoral, rudderless and misguided by most americans. Thus, if CHA members make antireligious comments on this list, I have no problem with that. Just as I have no problem with the reverse. CHA will not cater to the mentality that attacks on religious thinking in medicine is off the table. That is a defacto capitulation to the dominant status quo both in our field and in society as a whole. It may seem the nice polite thing to do. But it is really a way to silence the dissent. I do apologize for any collateral damage that occurs to those who are religious but believe as I do that it should remain a personal matter. You can either take a bullet for the cause or sit on the sidelines. sorry. Chinese Herbs FAX:
Guest guest
Hi Todd Here! Here! Thanks for protecting our rights to discuss matters germane to our patients' experience and to our own experience as people, patients and practitioners. Three cheers for CHA and for freedom. Like Todd said, those who are uncomfortable with these issues are free to refrain from reading about them. Respectfully, Shanna , wrote: > I got a complaint about religion on CHA.
