Guest guest
from:http://biz./prnews/040713/dctu046_1.html Using analytical procedures approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Association of Analytical Communities (AOAC) methods (an internationally-recognized organization dedicated to validating testing methods), USC analyzed 18 random lots of store brand fish oil supplements made by Leiner for America's top retailers. These blinded tests detected no PCBs, dioxins or heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury or arsenic in any of the samples. Included in the USC study were samples previously tested using the less stable ELISA method, which erroneously reported the samples contained toxic substances. USC's research concluded all Leiner fish oil supplements were virtually contaminant free and can provide a safe source of omega-3 fatty acids. This link was from a press release by Leiner. Of course it may be good research I don't know as I haven't checked the original research. Can anyone say what molecular distillation is? This was in the press release as something special. Also the title bothers me. Fish oil safer than fish. All fish? Some fish? Which fish? I'm sceptical and will continue eating fish and recommending people eat fish. Fish, which I know to be healthy and can tell you exactly which ocean it came from and caught in what kind of gear and if it is susutainably caught. Something that the Leiner peple neglected to say. They only said their oil was from wild fish and not from farmed salmon. This may be a viable option to those that don't like to eat fish but I would recommend you ask these questions, which fish does this oil come from? What kind of boats have caught this fish? What flag do they fly? And is this fish caught in a sustainable manner? Respectfully, Jill Likkel
Guest guest
Here's some info on molecular distillation: http://www.myers-vacuum.com/mv1.html Leiner does not tell on its website anything about the fish used in their fish oil or the way in which they are captured. You can place an inquiry here: http://www.yourlifevitamins.com/modules.php?op=modload & name=Support & file=index " Jill A.
