I agree with Alon. I haven't seen Fan Xie Ye used long term and have

seen it considered a very harsh herb.

I experimented with it once, after I had given blood, and I was only

slightly constipated from fluid loss -- but I was interested in everything,

as a student. I tried it with Da Huang, Mang Xiao, Zhi Shi and Ho Pou, and I

had very drastic results: cramping, pain, diarrhea several times, could not

go out that day, and I have not had the same problem using Da Huang and

others alone, so it must have been the very harsh Fan Xie Ye.
