With many digestive conditions, I look at diet before prescribing herbs. I've had success, both for my own digestive condition and for 2 patients, with the " Specific Carbohydrate Diet. " It's not TCM and my experience is limited to 3 people at this point but I'm seeing quick improvements. You can google the diet. (breakingtheviciouscycle.info is one site) The diet removes di- and polysaccharides from the diet for a period of time so that damaged villi can heal. The theory is that those sugars are not digested in people with damaged intestinal villi. There are scores of success stories in people with UC, Crohn's, celiac and IBS. I've heard there are other versions of this diet, one with goats milk yogurt and expensive supplements of dubious origins . . . . Marian --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
