Guest guest
The Complete External Therapies of Chinese Drugs offers several for inflammation of peripheral tissue of the tendon, which may be of some use: Acute stage: Prescription 1: chuan wu 240g caowu 240 du huo 240 ban xia 240 zhi zi 240 tian nan xing 240 da huang 500 mu gua 500 lu lu tong 500 pu huang 1000 zi jing pi (cx. ceris chinensis) 1000 xuan fu hua 300 su mu 300 chi shao 240 hong hua 240 This prescription should be ground into a fine powder and then mixed maltose and honey into an ointment. Prescription 2: qian li guang 15 su mu 15 hong hua 9 dan shen 15 chi shao 15 yi mu cao 30 fang feng 9 du huo 9 hu jiao 9 jiang huang 9 tou gu cao 15 wu jia pi 15 Boil these ingredients in 1-1.5 L of water and use as a wash. Chronic Stage Prescription 1: shen jin cao 30 tou gu cao 30 zhang mu 30 gan song 30 shan nai 9 wei ling xian 30 wu jia pi 30 Boil the above ingredients in 1-1.5 L and use as a wash. For what it's worth, I have never used these prescriptions myself. Acupuncture, moxa, and e-stim seem to work well with some point to balance muscles that might be too tight (a la Matt Callison). Let me know if you use these and if they work. -Steve >Does anyone have an external soak for plantar fasciitis? Guest guest
Dear Jason, a few people have had spurs soften and shrink, by soaking in a 3:1 mix of water to apple cider vinegar. They would put the solution in a sealable plastic pan (tuperware-like), to re-use, and soak the foot or feet in it for 1/2 hr a day or every other day. If it is truly the plantar fascia this may not help, but may. Also maybe 'Hong Hua Oil'. The kind with a little terpentine. A little dab'l do ya. < wrote:Does anyone have an external soak for plantar fasciitis? The people I have seen with this have quite a bit of dampness. I should probably try external herbs but haven't felt the need to yet. Also I give them a hard rubber ball to roll around under their feet, first sitting and then as they can take it start standing on the ball slowly adding weight to tender areas. But slowly... I also use electro-acu and massage to their feet. Good Luck, Jill Likkel
Guest guest
Steve, thanx for the external app info. I have been waiting for this book for about 5 months now, hopefully amazon comes through in the near future. ( I will let you know what I do (If I remember) I only get to see the person every 6 weeks, so acu is really not that effective.) Thanx, -Jason _____ Stephen Bonzak [smb021169] Monday, August 16, 2004 2:30 PM Re: External Soak The Complete External Therapies of Chinese Drugs offers several for inflammation of peripheral tissue of the tendon, which may be of some use: Acute stage: Prescription 1: chuan wu 240g caowu 240 du huo 240 ban xia 240 zhi zi 240 tian nan xing 240 da huang 500 mu gua 500 lu lu tong 500 pu huang 1000 zi jing pi (cx. ceris chinensis) 1000 xuan fu hua 300 su mu 300 chi shao 240 hong hua 240 This prescription should be ground into a fine powder and then mixed maltose and honey into an ointment. Guest guest
Hi Jason, Have you tried castor oil packs with moist heat? I would start there. < wrote: Does anyone have an external soak for plantar fasciitis?
