Severe sciatic pain

Dear All,

 

What do you consider to be the BEST treatment for an acute episode of severe

low back pain traveling down from the buttocks around to the groin? The

patient cannot even get up to urinate, for the last two days. I will be

seeing him tomorrow as a house call, for the first time, so I have no

further info. I know you all will be asking for differientation, patterns,

etc., but I don't have those. I am asking for the most expert advice: is

there anything that always gets results?

The best treatment I have is Zhu Scalp acupuncture with some local for the worst

ashi points. If you don't have his points, try the shanghai scalp points. They

might work as well.

 

Focusing on the worst ashi points rather than everything seems to work the best

in moving acute pain. Doing a point or two for emotions can help also.
