Guest guest
according to CSOMA in response to the Little Hoover commission: 12. What are acupuncturists permitted to do under this practice act for which they may not have sufficient education and training? None, however, the American College of Graduate Medical Education has developed competency areas for professionalism and ethics to fulfill the emerging needs of the standard care medical communities. So too the Oriental medical community must develop such competencies within the emerging pool of providers. Who learned how to properly order lab tests in acupuncture school? Either you taught yourself or you don't do it. We absolutely do not have sufficient training in western diagnostics that are allowed under our scope in CA. We would be better off admitting the obvious and offering a plan for rectification. If we stubbornly insist we are trained to the full extent of our scope when it is clear we are not, that can only have negative repercussions.
