Guest guest
The following passages concern me. Chinese medicine is being characterized as primarily about restoring internal homeostasis with no mention of attacking strategies directed at pathogenic factors. This reinforces the false dichotomy of TCM as always about balancing the terrain and WM as always about attacking pathogens. And check out this utter gobbledygook: " The objective of an IAOMP (Independent acupuncture and Oriental medical provider) diagnostic process is to locate and identify imbalances that exist between the level of health, wellness, symptoms relief or well-being sought by the patient-client and the ability of the patient-client to achieve that level. " AOM Disease/Dysfunction/Distress Auto-regulatory Model Disease in AOM may best be viewed as an active pathology involving interruption or interference with normal processes, and the efforts of the organism to restore itself to a more normal state by mobilizing the body’s defensive and coping mechanisms. While the medical doctor’s diagnosis of disease is primarily identified at the cellular, tissue and organ levels, an independent AOM provider will assess and diagnose the patient’s complaint or condition in terms of the ability of the organism at the level of the whole person (Nagi) to restore itself to a healthier state. IAOMPs function therefore from both a pathogenic and a salutogenic model ultimately focused on restoration of health and prevention of disease. 1. Dysfunction in AOM refers to anatomical, physiological and energetic limitations at the level of the person and are not to be confused with diseases, disorders or conditions involving specific tissue, organ or system abnormalities. 2. Distress in AOM refers to the mental, emotional and cognitive reactions or adaptations to disease or dysfunction wh8ich limit an individual’s sense of well being and impact quality of life In independent AM care, treatment is directed toward mobilizing the organism’s auto-regulatory capacities at the level of the whole person. On AOM Diagnosis: While medical doctors typically use diagnostic labels that identify a disease, disorder or condition at the level of the cell, tissue, organ or system, IAOMPs use diagnostic labels that identify dysfunction and distress at the level of the whole person. I am also worried that they do not include all the modern treatments used within OM Alon
