Guest guest
Where does the Hg come from in E Jiao? I have no idea. Maybe the feed on contaminated grounds and have a tendency to accumulate the mercury in the skin. Or the production process contaminates the product. Simon _____ Von: Gesendet: Montag, 27. I don't know the answer to this, but it does raise an issue of importance. Heavy metals are far more concentrated in animal products than plants. Chinese animal medicinals (like e jiao) probably have high heavy metal content and are often rancid due to poor preservation and storage. We need much higher standards for animal medicinals; they do not even meet food standards. We sliced some ge jie the other day and it was infested with live larvae squirming around. How may companies just grind huge amounts of these herbs without careful inspection. Add in the factor of inhuman treatment of animals in China and I generally oppose most use of chinese animal medicinals.
