Allow for acupuncture-only licensure. To ensure public access to

acupuncture services Ð for instance, to promising addiction therapy Ð

a separate category of licensure should be created for professionals

who provide only acupuncture, and not the array of traditional

Oriental therapies. A reduced educational curriculum and

examination would have to be developed and implemented.

According to Tom Haines, Dean at PCOM, this refers to detox technicians and not

to those

who would be able to use acupuncture alone for the full range of health

complaints.

I believe this is due to NADA being a *specialized* area of acupuncture.
