Guest guest
Dear Vets We are raising a seeing eye dog puppy and he has trouble with conjunctivitis, as do a few other the other pups, males more than females interestingly. The advice given was antibiotics from the vet. Any topical CHM anyone would suggest? I don't treat animals and would like some guidance before I try anything, considering he isn't my pup. All the dogs are Labradors. They don't get red eyes as far as I can see just the mucky discharge and streaks down the face. Digby is 8 weeks old, the others range up to 5 months. Digby does have some digestive system issues, he was hospitalized and on IV antibiotics for a gut infection. Now he is a bit thin despite a good appetite, bit bloated in the abdomen occasional loose stools. Sometimes he is a little quiet and he guards if you touch his abdo- I take it he gets a tummy ache. Not surprising though as he will eat anything- gum leaves, gum nuts, children's toys. Horse manure, wood, flowers, grass etc. Any research to back TCM remedies would be appreciated so I can put a case forward for avoiding the vet's antibiotics. While we are on the puppy subject what about ear mites? Thanks Lea
