Guest guest
Dear Colleagues, I've just been looking at Wikipedia, the open source encyclopaedia available for free over the internet, that invites people to edit or improve upon articles. The article on acupuncture [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acupuncture ]is urgently in need of improvement, beginning: " Acupuncture (from Lat. acus, `a needle', and pungere, `to prick') is the practice of inserting very thin needles in particular acupuncture points on the body to improve health and well-being, and is one component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It has been practiced for centuries and currently a small minority claim that it is effective for treating some ailments although without any explanation of how it can do so. The vast majority of the medical science community, however, has strongly doubted its efficacy due to it's lacking any basis in sound medical science. It is generally believed that any efficacy is entirely the result of the placebo effect and acupuncture is generally held in low regard as a form of oriental shamanism and quackery. " At the top of the article is the message: " This article is in need of attention. Please improve it and then remove this notice and the listing on pages needing attention. " All the best, Wainwright Churchill
