I have already received several angry posts vis a vis the wiseman

forward on politics. The post that reached the list slipped by; it was

not preapproved. I need to caution anyone who has unmoderated posting

access to tread lightly here no matter how strongly you may feel on

either side of this issue. I will be very unhappy if anyone abuses

this status to make political statements unrelated to the practice of

CM or medicine in general. Unless you have concrete examples of how US

foreign policy will affect access to chinese herbs or inhibit the

further transmission of the tradition, it is a taboo topic here.

I apologize for offending anyone by forwarding the Shanghai letter.

It was given to me to post but I understand it is a sensitive issue

and medicine should always be a secular art and the discussions of the

CHA should revolve around medicine. People inside and outside of the

US have strong biases, and I recognize that this is not the place to

alk about such things. Sorry for the forward, I should have refrained

from bringing up something polarizing like that. It won't happen again.
