first accredited school was TAI, now TAI sophia, largely due to the efforts of

mikulski of maryland, a longtime user of acupuncture. it was more coincidence

that she

was a maryland senator, thus connecting both TAI and washington DC. It had

nothing to

do with it being a worsely school. but that did set the image in the minds of

congress at

the time.

TAI may have been the first " accredited " school, but it wasn't the

first U.S. acupuncture school. I believe that honor would have to go

to NESA. I do believe that NESA began before TAI.

Schools recognize 'human potential' is a good hook for attracting new

acup students; TAI Sophia (Columbia, MD) being a prime example. It's

about marketing. It is not what I look for in ceu's and it's one reason

I'm on this list .

That is the rumor that we propogate at the school, I think the first class

was either just over 30 years ago, or just under...
