The wooden part of the root of Tripterygium wilfordii Hook. f. Flavor: bitter & pungent. Property: cool & noxious. Meridian tropisms: the liver & kidney. Effects: expelling wind & dampness, activating blood circulation, removing obstruction from the meridians, relieving swelling, checking pain & killing parasites. Indications: RA, rheumatic arthritis, glomerular nephrosis, glandularis erythematosa, dry snydrome of the eyes & mouth, eczema, psoriasis, leprosy, scabies, stubborn tinea.
