Guest guest
I have followed the discussion or should I better say identity crisis as to what we should be called. Personally, because of the volatility of the terms doctor and physician, at least in the interim, would it not be more accurate and deferential to take the approach that they do in Florida (acupuncture practitioner or AP) and expand upon it, to be called a " Licensed practitioner of acupuncture and Oriental Medicine " or LPAOM? I don't understand why in virtually all states we are called licensed acupuncturists or certified acupucturists, etc, which implies, at least to me, that we use acupuncture, but treat conditions much as Western physicians or chiropractors do, when the reality is that we don't (or at least by our training, shouldn't! ) Why not call a rose a rose (or at least mei gui hua)? Guest guest
In fact they won a lawsuit in order to be able to use this designation. Later Mike W.
