Guest guest
http://www.acupuncturetoday.com/archives2005/jan/01cab.html In CAB's response to the LHC report, the board firmly holds their ground and reiterates their previous finding on diagnosis, education, scope of practice and primary care, all directly in contradiction to the LHC report. I predict the first of the LHC recommendations to go into effect will involve the board itself. It will either be dissolved or replaced with a citizen's board. The governor reportedly favors dissolution and what Arnie wants ..... Either way, it makes this response moot. The board that responded does not even have a quorum right now, thus it has no official standing. And it will never again place decisionmaking power in the hands of those who are licensed. And therein lies the irony. If a board serves the profession and not the public, then the board serves no legitimate governmental purpose. It is just one more argument against the illusion of licensure which largely serves to insulate professionals from lawsuits rather than provide a means for sanction. Is any one out there actually arguing that licensing serves the public good. How come so few examples of doctors who have lost their licenses for malpractice then.
