Guest guest
From a document that seems to have caused all the fuss about the effects of LHC. This doc appears to be a joint committee background information file from a joint california senate and assembly committee on consumer affairs. In other words, the process is well on its way. This quote should be of interest to the libertarian herbalists on board, wherein they specifically point out that Chinese herbology does not require a license to practice in CA (and they thus actually call into question why its in our scope - now this IS a big deal, since we CANNOT do it otherwise even it legal for laypeople - that is the type of narrow, defensible issue we should be focusing on). " Thus, what the Board wants is a one thousand hour increase in educational requirements for licensure based on the premise that acupuncturists should be expert in (1) herbal medicine, a part of their practice that is not limited to acupuncturists, and may be practiced in California even by non-licensees " Chinese Herbs

Guest guest
I think it is a good idea to read thru this as I found a major mistake with item #3 where the LHC is stating that herbs are not regulated by the FDA or by the state of CA. This is simply not the case. More questions seem to be coming up as to an intricate web designed to deceive us. While some allegations make sense many are simply false interpretations. Another has the LHC attacking the scope of practice as coming from one source (legislative intent) when in fact there is another source the B and P code which includes L Ac as primarycare practitioners. This is an important battle, let's get involved. Later Mike W.
