thanks for the reference - I'll look into the Amazon version.

Though if it's anything like the various English equivalents, there will be

several versions - relatively tame versions circulated publicly, to act as

" decoys " , and the more explicit versions that typically are only circulated from

person to person.

I'd be surprised if Amazon sold the real thing - my Chinese friend described

some of the contents to me, and they are not things that would be mentioned in

polite company. If it contains New Age psychobabble, it's probably one of the

decoy versions.

 

For example, most English versions of Sun Tzu's The Art of War read like very

general outlines. I've never seen more explicit versions sold by publishers. But

at least they provide a place to start, and will reduce one's level of naivete a

notch after frequent readings.
