Guest guest
Hi All, According to CINTCM [ http://tinyurl.com/5mujp ] the 32 most valuable Chinese Medicinals according to the Ministry of Health, the Bureau of National Medicinal Administration and the Bureau of National Industrial and Commercial Administration (1981) were: Pinyin Name_Latin Name_Importance Bajitian_Morinda officinalis_21 Beimu_Fritillaria cirrhosa/ecirrhosa/delavayi_6 Chenxiang_Aquilaria agallocha/sinensis_17 Dingxiang (Gong)_Syzygium aromaticum_31 Duzhong_Eucommia ulmoides_13 Gouqizi_Lycium chinense/barbarum_12 Honghua_Crocus sativus_32 Houpo_Magnolia officinalis/biloba_14 Huanglian_Coptis chinensis/deltoidea/omeiensis/teetoides_5 Jinyinhua_Lonicera japonica_20 Moyao_Commiphora myrrha_27 Renshen_Panax ginseng_3 Rougui_Cinnamomum cassia_16 Ruxiang_Boswellia carterii_26 Sanqi_Panax pseudoginseng/notoginseng_4 Shanzhuyu_Cornus officinalis_18 Sharen_Amomum villosum/xanthioides_29 Tanxiang_Santalum album_30 Tianma_Gastrodia elata_9 Xuejie_Daemonorops draco_28 *Chansu_Venenum bufonis_19 *Dongchongxiacao_Cordyceps sinensis_8 *Ejiao_Colla Corii arini_22 *Guangjiao_Rhinoceros bicornis_24 *Lingyangjiao_Cornu saigae tataricae_25 *Lurong_Cornu cervi pantotrichum_7 *Niuhuang_Calcus bovis_2 *Quanxie_Buthus martensi_15 *Shexiang_Moschus moschiferus_1 *Xijiao_Rhinoceros unicornis/sondaicus/sumatrensis_23 *Xiongdan_Fel ursi selenaretos thibetanus/Ursus arctos_11 *Zhenzhu_Pteria maragritifera/martensii_10 The asterisked medicinals (second list) are derived from animals / animal parts. Some or all of those may be unacceptable ethically (or on other grounds) to some professionals. Do you know of a more up-to-date list, backed officially by Chinese Government? It is clear that the (1981) list omits many powerful medicinals, such as Chaihu-Rx Bupleuri falcati/sinensis/scorzoneraefolii, Hongjingtian-Rx Rhosiolae sacrae/roseae, Qinghao-Hb Artemisiae annuae etc but we should note well the top 32 medicinals of TCM. A list of the most common exported medicinals is at: http://www.cintcm.com/e_cintcm/e_cmm/exported%20materials.htm Best regards, Tel: (H): +353- or (M): +353- WWW: " Man who says it can't be done should not interrupt man doing it " - Chinese Proverb ---------- Version: 7.0.300 / Virus Database: 265.7.1 - Release 19/01/2005
