Guest guest
Stats can and are being manipulated in many research arenas. Follow the money and see how the researchers are connected to the idea, product, etc being tested. This is especially obvious in drug trials where it is rampant. Mike W. Bowser, L Ac > " Jill A. There are many very good studies, if one is ignorant it is too easy to just act from feeling instead of knowledge.
Guest guest
Have you guys read " The China Study " ? It came out in January and is a good read and very interesting. In the end, they find that a vegan diet is the one with the lowest incidence of disease. Here is Amazon's synopsis: " This exhaustive presentation of the findings from the China Study conclusively demonstrates the link between nutrition and heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Referred to as the " Grand Prix of epidemiology " by The New York Times, this study examines more than 350 variables of health and nutrition with surveys from 6,500 adults in 65 counties, representing 2,500 counties across rural China and Taiwan. While revealing that proper nutrition can have a dramatic effect on reducing and reversing these ailments as well as obesity, this text calls into question the practices of many of the current dietary programs, such as the Atkins diet, that enjoy widespread popularity in the West. The impact of the politics of nutrition and the efforts of special interest groups on the creation and dissemination of public information on nutrition are also discussed. Guest guest
I hate to inform you of this but fraud is a big problem within the research communities, especially pharmaceuticals. >>>>>I am very well aware of this. While you cant always see everything when reading the study itself, many time there is much more information that is quite different from the abstract which most people read. You can often see that the actual numbers have been worked. I am also aware about the fact that often the people that write the study, that is the principle author(s), never see the raw data, they only get what the drug companies have already massaged. At least now many of the major journals make drug companies register studies before they start if they ever want to publish them in the j. At least now we will see more of the negative studies
Guest guest
I hate to inform you of this but fraud is a big problem within the research communities, especially pharmaceuticals. FDR made mention of this in his final speech to the American public. Since that time it has gotten much worse. This is not paranoia just acknowledgement of the simple truth. Mike W. Guest guest
Poor studies still continue regardless of the data and conclusions that are as far-fetched as the Bush deficit reduction budget. I would not hold my breath, just reading their conclusions can be a good fairy tale. Mike W.
