Guest guest
I have a patient who has a long history of depression. He claims since acupuncture and herbs, he is no longer in depression, but just has a lack of emotion, except for sadness. After needling he feels slightly more emotion, but nothing substantially lasting. Anyway, I was wondering if the group has any exercises, ideas, tricks, or good books (for him to read).. to reestablish some of those lost neural pathways, recreating 'positive' receptor sites (et al). Guest guest
Check out East Indian " Laughing Therapy " and Mantak Chia's Inner Smile qigong. These might help. Bob
Guest guest
I have a patient who came in with a main complaint of apathy. I do H 5, Du 20, and the inner and outer UB points. I think this is related to heart qi, so there is a " lack of joy " from the heart. My patient has benefitted a lot from the treatments. I also do a little stick moxa on UB 15, but I have to be careful because this guy also has dampheat (so I add dampheat clearing points). Du16 is another possibility--sending marrow to the brain. I find that H 5 is especially effective. Laura , " " <@c...> wrote: > I have a patient who has a long history of depression.
